About Me
My name is Lisa Emerson and I am running for walking. That means that I would like to represent District 126 in Austin to advocate for a more walkable district. I would not make this effort if I felt that the interests of myself and my neighbors were being addressed. Our Texas leaders are serving national agendas. and I feel I must do something.
I am running to offer an alternative.
Instead of electing a democrat or a republican that will use the voice of District 126 to advocate for far flung benefit, support me, Lisa Emerson, and independent for House District 126.
Campaign Focus: Walkable District
Our district has transformed from rural to suburban. Population density is increasing. My goal is to lead cooperation among the many different commercial, public, and private entities in our district to promote walkable connections between where we live, where we study, where we shop, and where we recreate.
Walkable communities have higher property values and healthier citizens. Lets focus on things we can agree on, and get them done.

I felt like the things I was doing didn’t make an impact. I was speaking to people I agree with. I was scrolling the internet. And every day in the Houston Chronicle the facts kept stacking up. The decisions of our leaders is intolerable. Luckily – we get to vote for our leaders, so we can change who represents us. I do not feel that either major political party has much to offer. I wanted a real choice. If you support me in my petition effort to get on the ballot, the voters of Texas 126 will have a choice.
