I think we should give this a try! And that is running for office. Are you satisfied with our elected officials at the state level? I am not. The policy priorities set by the Republican leadership are not serving Texans, and they are not serving our District.
Legislation promoting using the public schools to promote religion?!?! This can’t be right?
Legislation regarding restrooms ?!?! An unnecessary distraction.
Legislation allowing a $10,000 grift for rich families and false hope for everyone else?!?! No way.
Meanwhile:
Harris County gets and “F” from March of Dimes on preterm babies.
We can’t walk out of our subdivisions safely.
And the support of Public Schools is under assult. Public Schools, the establishment of which was a major purpose of the TX Constitution. Public Schools that provide citizens with skills so that we can sustain a free society. Public Schools that give everyone a chance. Public Schools that have the playgrounds, and the library. Public Schools that take everyone.
The leaders have gone too far. An election is a competition. I think I can represent you better than they have.
Together we can make the government what we expect. We do this by expecting more of ourselves.
