Precinct 874 – Home

Precinct, 874.   Home, sweet home.

The map above shows Precinct 874.  Today, I am off to hang door hangers again!  I hope someone joins my email list after they get my door hanger.

About the Election Process for Independents

As you read along the blog you will note that the strategy is to have a representative for every precinct.

It is only natural that I am the representative for my home precent.  And I am.

This post will be my journey to find 20 people in the precinct to sign my petition.

So far I have put out a 100 door hangers.  Update that (300 as of Feb 23, and aiming to do 150 more today)

Results from First 100

  1. A person I knew emailed me and was encouraging.  This has followed up into me trying to describe how to be a volunteer.
  2. My daughter heard from a friend at school that they had gotten a door hanger.
  3. I am imagining a conversation with a third neighbor.

No Strangers.  So I need to keep trying to engage.  I have not yet figured out a process that will be reproducible across the other 40 precincts.

What will it take to compel a stranger to action?

Results from Next 200: Technical Challenges

  1. The results seemed promising on the streets – speaking with people
  2. Focus the message on “sign up for email” on website
  3. Ad QR code to copy
  4. Immediate jump in website traffic associated with door hangers with QR code.
  5. Discovered The Email Sign Up was broken – results inconclusive on email conversions
  6. Website fixed: out to do the next 150 door hangers.
